Eugene Henri Cauchois was a 19th century French painter known for his floral still lives painted in layers of loose, impressionistic strokes.
This painting is a study of one of his works. There is texture in the plinth, movement in the background, and joyful, cheery colors in the flowers. The bouquet has depth and dimension with the light mums on foreground right pulling the design forward. Can't you just smell these lovely flowers? It was a joy to paint in my current studies with David Jansen.
Painted in acrylic on an 18" x 24" x 1.5" gallery wrap canvas, there is no frame necessary.
